Although a homeowner may narrow the choice down to blinds, there's still the question of which type of blind and which brand of blind to use. While brand often determines quality, the specific type of blind a homeowner chooses must be one that fits both their budget and the needs of their home as well as their personal tastes, making the decision a difficult one. Although there are many different types of Orange County blinds a homeowner can use for their windows there are four types that are more popular than any others.
- Faux wood blinds: These faux blinds look like real wood but are far less expensive than the real thing. These faux blinds are also extremely durable making them great for bathrooms, kitchens and kids rooms. Furthermore they are moisture resistant and very easy to clean.
- Real wood blinds: Real wood blinds boast a warm natural look and are available in a wide variety of color options. Real wood blinds are perhaps best at blocking out incoming light and weigh very little. As with all other wood products however, wood blinds tend to crack, rot, and chip away over time so homeowners should be cautious in choosing wood blinds.
- Aluminum blinds: Aluminum blinds are inexpensive and lightweight. Moreover they are available in a great deal of colors. While not as good as wood blinds with regards to blocking out light, aluminum blinds still do a very good job at keeping light out. These types of blinds however are poor insulators and usually less visually appealing than other types.
- Vertical blinds: Vertical blinds are most commonly seen on sliding doors and large windows. They are very easy to clean, attractive, hold very little dust and are usually beautifully textured. Homeowners looking for something a little more exuberant however should stay away from vertical blinds as they have a very "standard" look to them.
